The classic scenario: A dirty nuclear bomb has been set to detonate in downtown Los Angeles in two hours; you hold the terrorist cell leader in your custody. He isn't talking. There's no way to evacuate the city in time. Should he enjoy the right to remain silent? Better yet, would you rule out torturing him into a full confession?
