The only justification for forsaking the current system would be its replacement by a more moral one. True morality is marked by its protection of the truly innocent. Thus, a revolution, if it would bring harm to more innocents than are already harmed today, would be immoral and ought to be discouraged.
But if meaningful, moral reforms to the current system are no longer possible, then the system itself must be replaced.
