Choice is not only power, it is potential: We mature by virtue of choices made and lessons learned. To limit voting rights is thus to limit our human potential.
But in order to learn from our choices, we must first understand the alternatives, which children and the infirm often do not; and we must be subject to the consequences for our choices, which both children and the confined are not.
Therefore, only those adults maintaining both their full liberty and a demonstrable residency within relevant voting precincts ought to enjoy the right to vote for a given proposal. And verification of these requirements via registration and identification is a self-evident essential in preserving the integrity of the system.
